FPL plans to add eight solar PV power plants totaling nearly 600 MW

FPL currently operates more than 335 MW of solar PV generating capacity
Florida Power & Light Co. (FPL, Juno Beach, Florida, U.S.) on February 20th, 2017 announced the expansion of its near-term plans for new solar generation.
FPL now plans to build new solar photovoltaic (PV) plants at eight locations by early 2018 – comprising more than 2.5 million solar panels.

Eight 74.5 MW solar PV projects across Florida
Each of the eight new solar PV plants will be 74.5 megawatts in capacity for a total of nearly 600 MW, which is enough to power approximately 120,000 homes.
The plants will be located at sites across Florida, including three previously announced locations in Alachua, Putnam and DeSoto counties. The locations of all of the new sites will be announced in the coming weeks. Construction is expected to commence this spring.
FPL currently operates more than 335 MW of solar generating capacity, enough to power 60,000 homes.
