This project was started by siemens in December 2012 and completed in the middle of 2014.With an installed capacity of 138MW and 60 turbines ,each turbine is design to generate 2.3MW and each of the rotors has a diameter of 101metres.this project supply power to about 114,000 South African households. The success of this project demonstrate siemens proficiency in windpower technology.This project should serve as a model for other african countries especially Nigeria with its huge potential in renewable energy resources.
